Mountain Golf

In my quest to find unusual destinations to visit in the Orlando area, I stumbled over a little town by the name of Mount Dora just about 45 minutes north of Orlando. I had read that it was a very picturesque small town located on a lake, and one of its main attractions was a scenic railway.
Mount Dora is only 27 miles or 43 km northwest of Orlando. It has an elevation of 184 feet above Lake Dora, which makes it Florida’s only “mountain top town”. Indeed the rolling hillsides and winding roads are a welcome unique feature in the generally flat topography of Florida.

He in turn called the area San Diego in honor of the Spanish Catholic saint St. Didacus, from whom the name San Diego derives.

Palm Springs is a desert paradise with sparkling waters, tree-lined canyons and bubbling hot springs. Yet for many East coasters, Palm Springs is still an enigma.

The longer I live in Costa Rica, the more I have had old friends e-mail me to ask two very important questions. The first is, Can you give us recommendations on what we should do while down there? And the second is Where is a fair-priced place to stay in your area? These questions are important because there are two things we don t want to waste in life, and those things are time and money.

So to avoid having to repeat the same answer over and over again to umpteen different people, here I am, writing this article.
